Praṇamāmi, I’m Vilasa, and I love Sanskrit!

Portrait of Vilasa Dasa

I have been fascinated by the sound of Sanskrit for a long time. When I began studying it, I realized how many small sounds I had been pronouncing differently for years—and how much sweeter the verses became once I learned them properly.

I’ve been studying Sanskrit in Vrindavan and Varanasi, India, since 2017 from Dr. Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji and other teachers. I’m not a great scholar, but I’m delighted to share with you what I’ve learned.
