Two 1-hour classes each week where I deliver a lesson and we practice together.
Sādhaka-pāṭhyam — beginner Sanskrit for sādhakas, to study śāstra.
The Sanskrit course that reminds you of Kṛṣṇa—every example relates to Kṛṣṇa, so you build exactly the grammar and vocabulary needed to study śāstra and commentaries.
To deepen your spiritual understanding, you already listen to lectures discussing the original texts and commentaries — and those texts are in Sanskrit.
However, beginner Sanskrit courses teach either everyday conversation or academic texts. The vocabulary is about tube lights or markets and kings—but these examples have little to do with the Gītā or the Bhāgavatam. For hours each week, your study time pulls your mind away from the spiritual topics you started learning Sanskrit for.
Learning the language of śāstra should not mean stepping away from your sādhana. It should be part of it.
Conventional grammar drills pull your mind away from Kṛṣṇa
Rules disconnected from scriptural examples make study time feel separate from sādhana.
Everyday Sanskrit teaches useless words and misses important ones
Typical conversations and beginner's texts build a vocabulary you hardly meet in the Bhagavad-gītā or Bhāgavatam.
The scriptures stay far away
Months of study, but you still can't understand spiritual lectures, verses, and commentaries any better.
No generic Sanskrit, but a course designed to get you studying śāstra.
01
So each new word and rule is one you'll actually meet in śāstra.
02
You understand and form real sentences immediately, not isolated vocabulary.
03
The rules that let you read commentaries—not a comprehensive academic grammar.
04
You start with what you'll use most, not what's traditionally taught first.
With this foundation, you get closer to studying śāstra in the original Sanskrit.
Grammar and vocabulary drawn from the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, so the language you study is the language Kṛṣṇa is described with.

This is why we've put together
A course developed for spiritualists who want to learn Sanskrit to study śāstra, using the innovative textbook Sādhaka-pāṭhyam by Dr. Jagadananda Dasa — my first Sanskrit teacher.

You can follow your guru beyond translations into the original texts
You understand and form full Sanskrit sentences
You've learned vocabulary and grammar frequently used in śāstra
You've built the foundation to study traditional Vyākaraṇa sūtras
Very early on my spiritual journey, I got captivated by the Sanskrit language and enjoyed when teachers analyzed the meaning of words and grammar in their spiritual lectures. Thus, I wanted to learn Sanskrit so that I could follow the lectures even more and understand the śāstra in its original language. However, I heard that Sanskrit is very difficult to learn and thus a waste of time for a sādhaka. Luckily, I had the fortune to study at the Jiva Institute in Vrindavan, India in 2017 under Dr. Jagadananda Dasa while he was developing his innovative Sādhaka-pāṭhyam method that can get beginners to study bhakti-śāstra in a few months. Due to his course, I could form my first sentences in Sanskrit after only a few classes, and I was amazed how easy it could be! Enthused by that experience, I started tutoring other students.
My guru, Dr. Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji, encouraged me to start studying the traditional Harināmāmṛta-vyākaraṇa sūtras under Dr. Balarama Dasa, and I saw that the Sādhaka-pāṭhyam method is capable of preparing students for them!
I’ve been studying Sanskrit in Vrindavan and Varanasi, India, since 2017 from Dr. Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji, Dr. Jagadananda Dasa, Dr. Balarama Dasa, Purushottama Prabhu, Dileep Chandravanshi, and Shubha Vengadakrishnan.
Encouraged by Vedic Psychologist Dr. Joshika Richmond, I’m now delighted to share with you what I’ve learned and empower you to enter the world of Sanskrit.
